Acupuncture and Additional Healing Modalities
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the practice of penetrating the skin with thin, solid, metallic needles, which are then activated through gentle and specific movements of the practitioner’s hands or with electrical stimulation.
Acupuncture is part of the ancient practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners believe the human body has more than 2,000 acupuncture points connected by pathways or meridians. These pathways create an energy flow (Qi, pronounced “chee”) through the body that is responsible for overall health. Disruption of the energy flow can cause disease. By applying acupuncture to certain points at various depths, it is thought to improve the flow of Qi, thereby improving health. In my Acupuncture sessions, depending on the TCM Diagnosis, I will either do a front treatment (supine – needles are placed on the front part of the body) or a back treatment (prone – where the needles are placed in the actual back). Electrostimulation can also be used depending on the person, Qi level, and TCM diagnosis. Electrostimulation is used primarily for muscle-skeletal pain but can be used for a variety of conditions. Two additional and complementary modalities that can be used in conjunction (either/or—not both) with acupuncture are cupping and moxibustion. Both move energy, but in different ways. However, due to the time involved with these complementary treatments, treatment time is extended to 75 minutes. In addition to acupuncture, I use aromatherapy to relax the body prior to the session and end each session by working on the reflex points on the bottoms of the feet. This therapeutic foot massage is for the purpose of grounding the patient and bringing them gently back into the room and into their body. Acupuncture 60-minute session - $120

Microneedling
MicroNeedling is an effective skin rejuvenation treatment that solves a multitude of skin problems by triggering the body’s production of collagen and elastin, working wonders in reducing acne scars, lines, and wrinkles.
MicroNeedling is the insertion (oscillating motion) of fine short needles into the skin for the purpose of rejuvenation. By creating a small wound, the skin will respond with collagen production and new skin cells. Depending on the depth of the needle penetration, this can offer skin rejuvenation levels from the simple enhancement of product absorption to the clinical treatment of scars and wrinkles.
In my microneedling treatment, I use the AcuMicro Plus+. It is their newest Microneedling pen and has double the RPMs of standard Microneedling pens. This AcuMicro device is designed for safe and effective treatments for the purpose of promoting facial rejuvenation. The integrated aluminum alloy body was ergonomically designed for comfort and ease of use. The AcuMicro plus allows for adjustable needle depth - 0.25mm–2.5mm, as well as adjustable speed - 9,000–18,000 rpm. Best on the market.

Hypno Acupuncture
Hypno Acupuncture is a powerful combo treatment that involves acupuncture with guided meditation for a deeper experience.
While acupuncture initiates physiological changes in the body, the use of guided imagery and visualization helps to generate new neurological pathways, which intern creates new behaviors, forward movement, and positive change.
Guided imagery is a relaxation technique that purposefully guides thoughts and beliefs to achieve desired outcomes. When combined with acupuncture, the relaxation is deeper, therefore, allowing one to have a greater experience than with just guided imagery alone. In my Hypno Acupuncture sessions, I use a collection of pre-set acupuncture point protocols to match the desired outcome of the patient’s intention. For example, there is a specific point protocol intended to initiate healthy boundaries. Therefore, this specific treatment can be used for a range of issues: releasing negative energy, a subconscious program, an unhealthy relationship, or as simple as a bad habit. Originally, this treatment was created for those affected by autoimmune disorders. This is just one example of how acupuncture and hypnosis go hand-in-hand to create a greater outcome. During my sessions, I use guided imagery pertaining to the Chakra system. Chakra means “wheel” and refers to the energy points in your body. They are thought to be spinning disks of energy that should stay open and aligned, as they correspond to bundles of nerves, major organs, and areas of our energetic body that affect our emotional and physical well-being. The seven major chakras run from the base of the spine to the top of the head. Just by visualizing the colors and location of the chakras, profound healing begins. I also use essential oils specific to the session, crystals, and singing bowls as needed and for the comfort of each person. My personal intention for each person I work with is to share clarity, joy, and purpose … Hypno-Acupuncture Initial Session 90 minutes $225

Cupping
Cupping is the modern term for an ancient medical treatment popular in Asian and Arab cultures. Once suction is created, the cups are placed on the skin (usually the back) and moved across the body. This creates a negative energy flow, which can counteract the current state of stagnation.
In my healing practice, I use glass cups of all different sizes. As small as 1 in. diameter to 3.5 in. The larger the cup, the more surface area it covers, which is best for the back. Smaller cups go on smaller surfaces like the elbows, back of the neck, knees, ankles, and feet. Cupping alone is an amazing treatment on its own. It stimulates lymphatic drainage, relaxes muscles, and releases toxins. In addition, cupping is said to energize the physical organs and release unresolved emotions stuck in the body. Cupping leaves marks that look much worse than they feel. The circle marks can last from 3 days up to a week or longer, depending on the person and the stagnation they have. Stagnation is pain, stuck energy, toxins, inflammation, or pathogens. One of my most common sayings is … “If you turn purple, you need it.” And apparently need it again once the marks go away. Once you have had to cup regularly, the person will no longer have such dark and intense marks, if any marks at all. Someone who has had cupping, and the result is no circle marks, has moving healthy Qi—something we should all aim for. Cupping Treatment – 25 minutes $50

Moxibustion
Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves the burning of mugwort, a small, spongy herb, to facilitate healing. It is often paired in treatment with acupuncture. The purpose of moxibustion is to strengthen the blood, stimulate the flow of energy, and maintain general health.
In my practice, I mostly use a ‘smokeless’ moxa which looks like a coal cigar. I use it primarily near the bottoms of the feet and lower legs to increase circulation and warm the meridian channels on the lower limbs. Depending on where moxa is ‘burned’ on the body, it has different actions. Anyone who runs cold has poor circulation or has anemia and would greatly benefit from moxibustion. It greatly nourishes those who have an underlying weakness. Moxibustion can also be burned on the stomach for digestive weakness and directly on the skin in some circumstances. The Kidney meridian is the ONLY meridian that has a point on the bottom of the feet (KD-1) for fertility and endocrine deficiencies. Moxa is a necessity. Infertility most often has a kidney deficiency component that requires warmth and nourishment of the Kidney channel. Moxa is nourishing and “puts energy back” into the body. Whereas cupping pulls energy out and is used for more excess conditions such as pain. Moxibustion on the bottoms of the feet is warming and relaxing. Once you have experienced moxa yourself, you will know exactly what I am talking about. Moxibustion sessions can be done solo or as part of the acupuncture Treatment. Reflexology
Reflexology is the art of using specific touch techniques (pressure point therapy) on reflex maps believed to resemble the human form on the feet, hands, and ears to achieve relaxation and balance in the body. By “working” these areas, the corresponding organs are stimulated, toxic deposits are released, and self-healing is promoted.
In my healing practice, I primarily work the feet. However, if someone prefers hands or ears, I am happy to oblige. Generally, work the points on the feet during the last 10 minutes of an acupuncture session. This serves as a way to bring them slowly back to the room while simultaneously using essential oils to ground them back into their body.
Chinese herbal medicines
Chinese herbal medicines are mainly plant-based, but some preparations include minerals or animal products. They can be packaged as powders, pastes, lotions, or capsules, depending on the herb and its intended use. Different herbs have different properties and can balance particular parts of the body.
The underlying principles of TCM are very different from traditional Western notions about health, illness, and the workings of the body. Chinese herbs are prescribed to normalize imbalanced energy, or Qi (pronounced “chee”), that runs through invisible meridians in the body. Whether or not the philosophy is believed, studies have shown Chinese herbal medicines to be successful in treating a range of disorders.
In my practice, I use a combination of Chinese Herbal and an Australian herbal-based company. Both are high quality and very safe. When taking herbs simultaneously with acupuncture treatments, the herbs continue the intention of the work in between acupuncture sessions.
Whole Food Nutrition
Whole Food Nutrition and
Whole Food-Based Supplementation
When you start eating whole food, your body starts to feel and work better. You may notice just within a few days improved energy, better sleep, and fewer aches and pains. You’ll notice your moods are more stable and less ups and downs. Digestion will improve, and the mind will become clear. You may even start to feel more empowered in your daily life … and ready to make those needed changes that you have been holding back on just because you made improved food choices. Eating a whole food diet, 85% plant-based, will change your life! Whole foods are generally characterized as foods that have not been processed, refined, or had ingredients added to them. Whole foods include fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, seeds, whole grains, meat, fish, and eggs. These kinds of food contain proper vitamins and nutrients to nourish and keep your body in optimal health. The benefits of a whole-food diet include lower rates of heart disease, cancer, and type 2 diabetes. Another advantage of eating whole foods comes from the vast array of nutrients acting together for the bigger cause to combat inflammation. By alleviating the bad sugars (high corn fructose, sugar beets, and cane sugars), your mental health and outlook on life will become more positive. The gut/brain connection is real.

The Research as to Why Whole Foods
Phytochemicals. In the past 10 years, scientists have identified hundreds of biologically active plant-food components called phytochemicals (phytonutrients). They include the powerful antioxidant lycopene, a red-colored carotenoid found mainly in tomatoes; anthocyanins, a powerful antioxidant that gives a deep blue color to berries; and pterostilbene, which appears to turn on a “switch” in cells that breaks down fat and cholesterol and is found in blueberries and the Gamay and Pinot Noir varieties of grapes. Nutrient shortages. According to national survey results published by the US Department of Agriculture, almost a third of us get too little vitamin C; almost half get too little vitamin A; more than half get too little magnesium; and some 92% to 97% get too little fiber and potassium. Yet, according to the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR), these particular nutrients help lower the risk of our major health problems: cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes. The easiest way to correct these nutrient deficiencies is by eating a balanced, mostly plant-based diet. In other words, 85% of your dietary intake should be in the rainbow of colors within the plant kingdom. Dark leafy greens, citrus, beets, avocados, squash, lentils, nuts, seeds, and spices. And organic if possible.

The only way to make sure you’re getting the phytochemicals we know about, as well as the ones we haven’t yet discovered or named, is to eat plant foods in their whole, unprocessed form (or ground, if they’re grains or seeds).
What Is Whole Food Supplementation
One of the most eye-opening classes in the area of nutrition was with a Western MD who taught me how to use whole food and spices to heal one’s body. The Pharmacy in your Kitchen. The big takeaway from this seminar was his love of ginger, turmeric blueberries, and green tea, which of course, aren’t easy to consume daily. This is when supplementation comes into play. With my education and training in Chinese Herbology, using food and spices to heal your body/mind makes the most sense. However, when the foods, spices, and herbs are not readily available, this is when supplementation is a must. Standard Process is the product I refer most of my patients to. Since 1929, Standard Process has been dedicated to the field of nutritional supplements and the whole food philosophy of providing nutrients as they are found in nature—in a whole food state where their natural potency and efficacy would be realized. Based on this philosophy, Standard Process start with whole foods like peas, radishes, and beets. Then, prepare these ingredients in a way that safeguards their nutritional value. A whole food supplement is a complex formula that includes whole food-based plant ingredients, plant and animal extracts, desiccates, or synthetic ingredients as required to create the best dietary supplement for each health indication.

Trusting in the process and the practitioner is such an important part of the healing journey.
Crystal Singing Bowl Sessions
What are Crystal Singing Bowls - Singing bowls are often utilized in the course of sound therapy. One type of bowl commonly used in this regard is known as crystal singing bowls, which are also known as quartz singing bowls or glass singing bowls. Various alternative health practitioners believe that the use of these bowls can have a significant beneficial effect on the healing of your mind and body, especially when combined with energetic medicine like acupuncture.
Sound healing, which is also known as sound therapy, has been practiced since ancient times. The concept of sound therapy is based on the idea that every part of your body creates a vibration that resonates in a certain way. Put another way, vibrational healing is based on the idea that everything in the universe, including our bodies, is in a state of vibration. When your body is out of balance, diseases can result. That is, illness is caused by blockage, which stops the organ in question from vibrating at its healthy frequency. Sound healing works by sending sound waves throughout your body, which brings harmony through oscillation and resonance. This helps restore your body’s balance which in turn helps you heal. Make sure to drink plenty of water before and after your session.

Healy BioFeedback
What is Healy Biofeedback - Healy is a small, portable quantum field micro-currency and resonant frequency unit that is reported to improve your health via frequency intention. The human body is made up of 100 trillion cells, each requiring healthy cell voltage to stay alive. Quantum physics teaches us there’s no difference between energy and matter. Therefore, we are nothing but energy. Quantum physics teaches us everything within us is the result of motion—creating resonance. The resonance is important to understanding how subtle energy directs and maintains health and wellness in human beings. The Healy is a medical device that can be clipped to the user’s clothing or worn on the wrist (wrist bands). It supposedly interacts with the body through and is controlled via Bluetooth by a software application that is installed on a smartphone. In 2020, Healy World announced that it would begin multilevel marketing of Healy devices in the United States. Imagine a portable wearable technology designed for total health, inside and out, to assist with energetic imbalances by directing cell communication and increasing cellular energy (ATP) by 500%. By doing so, we can bring the body back to homeostasis (balance). Our cells constantly communicate through resonant frequency, much like tuning to the precise channel on your radio or TV. The difference in tuning the station to 102.3 or 102.4 is the difference in a clear signal vs. static (signal disruptor). The magic is in the resonance.
